Ratified July 15, 2017, Yuba County was the 7th California county ratified as a chartered county in the New California state movement of egregiously aggrieved Californians exercising our Constitutional right to form a new state separate from the tyranny and lawlessness of the State of California. "That, whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such Principles and organizing its Powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." --Declaration of Independence The only path to a new state is through the lawful process laid out in Article IV, Section 3, of the United States Constitution: "New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union, but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State, nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress." There is no path to statehood through the courts. There is no path to statehood through referendum or election. We’ve been there before, and it died in committee in 1992. No new state has ever been brought into the Union which could not demonstrate the ability to govern itself.
